Abstract

The development of modern technology and the idea of smart cities, which has been observed in recent years, becomes of interest to operators of water distribution systems. Implementing monitoring and remote water meter reading systems allows to collect data presenting actual operation of water supply networks. The collected data can be used in investment planning processes, as well as in modelling, designing and current operation and optimisation of the network. Taking into account current needs of water supply companies in this respect, research has been carried out into the uneven water consumption among various types of final consumers. Data from high-frequency time series recording modules located in the pilot water supply zone were used in the research. The research results indicate significant differences between the values of the non-uniformity coefficients of water consumption in the literature and the actual data, which is determined on the basis of precise measurements. The impact of COVID-19 pandemics on variability and unevenness of water consumption by users of buildings of various purpose is shown.
