Author Guidelines

For Authors

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts to INSTAL.

Before submitting a manuscript, please review the journal's aims and scope, the guidelines below, and the journal's publication ethics policies. Submission of a manuscript confirms that all Authors have approved its content, consent to its submission to INSTAL, and meet the journal's authorship criteria.

Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the OJS editorial system.

Before Submission

Before starting a submission, Authors should ensure that:

  • the manuscript falls within the aims and scope of INSTAL,
  • the manuscript is original and has not been previously published,
  • the manuscript is not under consideration by another journal,
  • all listed Authors have made a genuine contribution to the work and have approved its final version,
  • all necessary permissions have been obtained for materials protected by third-party rights,
  • all sources have been properly acknowledged,
  • data, research results, illustrations, and graphical materials have been presented accurately and without manipulation,
  • all potential conflicts of interest have been disclosed,
  • where ethical approval or informed consent is required, the appropriate approvals have been obtained.

Manuscript Preparation

File Format

Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word and submitted in DOCX or DOC format.

The total length of the manuscript, including tables and figures, should not exceed 15 A4 pages. Longer manuscripts require prior consultation with the Editorial Office.

The manuscript should include:

  • title in Polish and English,
  • abstract in Polish and English,
  • 3 to 6 keywords in Polish and English,
  • main text divided into logically structured sections,
  • tables and figures with appropriate captions,
  • funding information, where applicable,
  • Author Contributions statement for multi-author manuscripts,
  • Data Availability Statement, where applicable,
  • Conflict of Interest statement,
  • information on ethical approval, where applicable,
  • disclosure of the use of generative artificial intelligence, where applicable,
  • acknowledgments, where applicable,
  • references.

The title should be concise, unambiguous, and accurately reflect the content of the manuscript. The abstract should provide a self-contained summary of the purpose of the study, methods used, principal results, and main conclusions.

All tables and figures should be consecutively numbered and cited in the text.

Captions should clearly describe the content of each table or figure. For manuscripts written in Polish, captions should also be provided in English.

Graphical materials should be of sufficient quality for publication. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce any material protected by third-party copyright.

The same results should not normally be duplicated in both a table and a figure unless this is scientifically justified.

All references listed in the bibliography must be cited in the manuscript, and all sources cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list.

Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of references.

Where a publication has a DOI, the DOI should be provided.

Authors are encouraged to rely primarily on original, current, peer-reviewed scholarly sources directly relevant to the subject of the manuscript.

All URLs, DOI identifiers, publication titles, Author names, and bibliographic details should be verified before submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Articles

The “Articles” section publishes original scientific and scientific-technical articles within the aims and scope of INSTAL. Submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment and, if selected for further consideration, double blind peer review by at least two independent Reviewers. Authors are required to comply with the Author Guidelines and the Ethical Principles and Publication Policy of the journal.

Privacy Statement

Personal data collected by the journal INSTAL are processed solely to the extent necessary for carrying out the publishing process and for operating the journal’s electronic publishing platform. The Data Controller makes every effort to ensure the security, confidentiality, and compliance of the data with applicable legal regulations.


Data Controller

The Data Controller of personal data is Częstochowa University of Technology,
Faculty of Infrastructure and Environment,
J.H. Dąbrowskiego 69, 42-201 Częstochowa, Poland.


Scope and Purpose of Data Processing

Personal data of Authors, Reviewers, Editors, and Readers are processed for the purpose of:

  • handling the submission, peer review, and publication of scholarly articles,
  • conducting correspondence related to editorial activities,
  • fulfilling archiving and reporting obligations,
  • ensuring the proper functioning of the OJS publishing platform.

The scope of processed data includes in particular: name and surname, e-mail address, affiliation, scientific identifiers (e.g. ORCID), as well as other data necessary for the publication process.


Legal Basis for Data Processing

Personal data are processed in accordance with:

  • Article 6(1)(b) and (c) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR),
  • applicable national laws,
  • internal regulations of Częstochowa University of Technology.

Data Sharing

Personal data are not disclosed to third parties, except where such disclosure is necessary for the publishing process, results from applicable legal provisions, or concerns systems used for indexing and archiving scholarly publications.


Rights of Data Subjects

Individuals whose personal data are processed have the right to:

  • access their personal data,
  • rectify or complete their data,
  • restrict the processing of their data,
  • object to the processing of their data,
  • request the erasure of data in cases provided for by applicable law.

Data Retention Period

Personal data are retained for the period necessary to achieve publishing and archiving purposes, in accordance with applicable legal provisions and the internal regulations of Częstochowa University of Technology.


Data Security

The Data Controller applies appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or destruction.


Final Provisions

Personal data are not used for marketing purposes and are not transferred to third parties for purposes unrelated to the publishing activities of the journal INSTAL.


Definitions

GDPR – Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).
