Abstract

The paper includes values of local head loss coefficients for elbows with pressed ring, which were obtained by direct laboratory measurements, by 3D modelling and analytical calculations using classical energy loss formulas. In the paper, analysis were carried out for three sizes of elbows, the results of which were compared to the values obtained for connectors of corresponding sizes. The obtained values of the coefficients differed significantly depending on the way they were determined. Curves of variation of the loss coefficient values as a function of average velocity were developed based on direct measurements and 3D modelling. These curves are characterized by a non-growing course.
