Abstract

The article presents various directions of educational activities regarding the promotion of the introduction of alternative solutions for the management of rainwater in urban areas. The issue of the role of education has been considered in many dimensions. Education addressed to various age groups as well as to various social groups as well as professional ones, including officials, employees of water and sewage companies, designers or scientists, was included. Attention was also paid to various ways of conducting education, including competitions. The effects of education were discussed, both those already obtained, i.e. almost immediate (as in the case of municipal contests or actions with co-funding), but also those expected, which still need to be awaited. The review of educational activities was preceded by numerous examples related mainly to the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.
