About the Journal
INSTAL (ISSN 1640-8160, eISSN 2956-6738) is a peer-reviewed, open access, monthly engineering journal for the building services sector, aimed primarily at engineers, industry practitioners and academic staff. Since 1983, it has published content on, among other topics, heat and energy sources (including renewable energy and energy efficiency), ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration as well as water supply and sewerage systems, including wastewater treatment and energy recovery. The journal also covers industrial installations, regulatory and standards-related issues and reports on industry events such as trade fairs and conferences.
The journal provides a distributed archiving system based on the LOCKSS/CLOCKSS principle, ensuring secure, redundant storage and permanent access to published articles. All published content is automatically deposited via the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.
All articles undergo peer review, with reviewer anonymity maintained. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). They may be freely accessed, downloaded, distributed and reused for any purpose, provided that the author and the original source are properly cited.
Authors publishing in INSTAL receive 70 points according to the Polish Ministry of Education and Science’s list of journals and peer-reviewed conference materials (Communication of 5 January 2024, item 2999).
