Open Access Policy

Open Access Policy

The journal INSTAL is a scholarly journal published under the Open Access (OA) model. All articles published in the journal are made publicly available, free of charge and without technical or time restrictions, immediately upon publication. The purpose of the Open Access policy is to ensure broad, global access to research results and to support the free exchange of knowledge in accordance with the principles of open science.

Scope of Open Access

Under the Open Access policy:

  • the full texts of all articles are available on the INSTAL journal website,
  • access to published content does not require user registration or any fees from readers,
  • articles may be read, downloaded, copied, printed, and linked without restriction, provided that copyright and proper citation rules are respected.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors publishing in INSTAL retain the copyright to their articles. Published works are made available under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) . The CC BY 4.0 license permits copying, distribution, public sharing, adaptation, and other forms of reuse of the publication, including for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the authors and the original source, the applicable license is indicated, and any changes made to the material are clearly identified.

Reuse and Permissions

Reuse of all or part of articles published in INSTAL under the CC BY 4.0 license, including text, tables, and graphical materials covered by this license, does not require additional permission from the Editorial Office or the Publisher, provided that the terms of the license are complied with. Reuse of the material does not imply endorsement of such reuse by the Authors, the Editorial Office, or the Publisher.

Archiving and Long-Term Access

The journal INSTAL applies mechanisms for the long-term digital preservation of its published content. Articles are hosted on the OJS publishing platform and archived using the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) and LOCKSS-based solutions. The purpose of this archiving is to ensure the long-term accessibility and preservation of published content, including in the event of technological changes or discontinuation of the primary publishing platform.

Open Access and Publication Fees

The Open Access model of INSTAL is financed through Article Processing Charges (APCs) paid by Authors or their funding institutions, in accordance with the journal’s Price Policy. The absence of reader fees does not affect the peer review process or editorial decisions.

Compliance with Institutional and Funder Policies

The open access model adopted by INSTAL is intended to ensure the broadest possible compatibility with the open access requirements of academic institutions and research funding bodies. Authors are responsible for verifying any specific requirements arising from the terms and conditions of the relevant research project or funding programme.
