Feeling thermal comfort translates into psychomotor efficiency. Being “off balance” and feeling discomfort causes a sense of dissatisfaction, lack of concentration, an increase in errors made and deterioration of psychomotor functions. In public trust professions, feeling thermal comfort is particularly important. The article discusses in detail the factors influencing the thermal comfort of healthcare workers, including clothing protecting against infection agents (PPE). The results of survey studies on subjective feelings of thermal comfort among Polish healthcare workers using clothing protecting against infectious agents currently and during the COVID-19 pandemic were also presented.
