Abstract

The method of calculating eaves gutters based on the PN-EN 12056-3 standard is described, with particular emphasis on issues that have not been resolved in the standard, such as: the dimensioning of baskets or gutters that are sloped between 3 and 4 per mille or the selection of economically justified dimensions for square cross-section downpipes. Material consumption is compared when using eaves gutters with oval and square cross-sections. A simple method for creating nomograms to select the sizes of drained roof surfaces with gutters of known cross-section, slope, and length is presented. Such nomograms allow for the determination of the eaves gutter dimension without conducting calculations that require assuming the dimensions of the gutters through trial and error.
