The article presents technical aspects of thermal water exploitation by discussing geothermal borehole construction. A one-hole and two-hole system of thermal water exploitation was characterized. Schemes were developed for the possibility of obtaining geothermal heat depending on the temperature of the extracted thermal water, its cooling temperature and the amount of thermal water flowing through the heat exchanger. Geological aspects conditioning the location of geothermal heat plants planned for construction were also analyzed. A list of necessary documents to be obtained for the exploitation of thermal water was also presented. Finally, the possibilities of financing the geothermal projects planned from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management were presented.
