The article presents the issue of deformability of ventilation and air conditioning ducts made of composite materials. The problem of testing the mechanical properties of ducts is discussed and the current guidelines in this area are analyzed. A new test scheme was proposed along with an experimental test stand, which can be a starting point for testing various types of multi-layer boards used for the construction of ventilation and air-conditioning ducts. The obtained test results, together with an analysis of currently used methods of duct reinforcement and a review of composite materials used in construction, led to the development of a new method of reinforcement, which is characterized by the possibility of significantly increasing strength and reliability while maintaining the most important advantages of composite ducts. Increasing the range of failure-free operation by more than 2.5 times resulted in obtaining a patent for the invention entitled: “Reinforced multilayer plate, especially for the construction of ventilation and air-conditioning ducts”.
