The article describes the issues of technical and economic efficiency of hot domestic water production in a district heating substation cooperating with a solar panel installation. In an example residential building, based on meteorological data from the reference year, the annual degree of coverage of hot water demand was calculated, and the efficiency and economic coefficient of the system were determined during one year. A simple payback period for an example investment consisting of connecting a solar collector battery to a heating substation was determined.
